I am told that you can only pour concrete when the temperature is 32 degrees and rising. Well how opportunistic that we need a foundation poured for our new Worship Center and we have had an unusually mild stretch of weather this January.

These pictures were taken as they poured the concrete for our foundation at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday the 20^th. Can you believe that it was almost just under 40 degrees before dawn in the middle of January? These guys worked all day and late into the night. We actually got a little rain shower just before they were ready to stop at 8:00 p.m. That small amount of moisture kept them working until 3:00 a.m. Thursday morning!

One of the coolest things we have decided to do thus far is to place Bibles at various spots in the foundation. Each Elder donated a Bible that will be placed under each entrance and Pastor Jori’s Bible will be placed under the pulpit area. The Bible under the East entrance illustrates what we are trying to say through this simple act. It is turned to 1 Corinthians 3:11 which says, “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

The night before the foundation was poured the Elder’s gathered on the property and prayed over the areas where the Bibles were going to be placed.

The concrete had to be poured in two separate intervals. The second half of the foundation was poured on Saturday just as the sun was rising.

What a beautiful way to begin a year. The concrete will take a couple of weeks to cure, and then…The Steel Building!

Well after several years of preparation we have begun construction to build our new Worship Center on the southern outskirts of Dumas, TX. The dirt work began two days before Thanksgiving and these contractors haven’t slowed up one bit. These pictures show the progress thus far from ground breaking to the pouring of the footer that was finished the first week of January. Wow I can hardly believe how well things are progressing. (Check out these pics that were recently taken by Pastor Fred).

   

   

This endeavor is something that we are all working together to achieve God’s highest plan. If you haven’t joined us to do your part yet, please allow me to enthusiastically invite you to join us in something that is bigger than ourselves. Can you imagine how awesome it’s going to be when we finally get to realize something that we have worked so hard to lay hold of!

Here’s how you can join us in the work:

1. You can donate a Bible to represent your family as part of the Church. “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood…” 1 Peter 2:5. At different points in the construction we will place your Bibles in the building as a representation that this house is built upon God’s Word. Psalm 127:1 says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” If you would like to take part in this exciting project donate a new or used Bible that you have prayed over and filled with prayers, and prophetic words concerning the ministry that will take place in God’s house through His people. Bring that Bible to the Church at a future undetermined date. When the contractors erect the walls we will place your families Bible inside the walls of the Church.
2. You can give financially to help us raise the funds needed to furnish the building, provide the sound system and then to begin to pay down the debt. We need to raise $300,000 between now and the end of construction (that’s just what we have to raise withing the next 9 months). There are many people who have faithfully given to the Awakening Generations project and for that I thank you. Without your generosity we would not be where we are today. Please continue in your faithfulness. If you haven’t joined us to Awaken a Generation of Worshipers please consider giving a one time or monthly gift to Awakening Generations.
3. Pray, Pray, Pray. We deeply believe in the power of abiding prayer on the part of the saints. James 5:16 tell us, “The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective.” We are praying for safety to be bestowed on our contractors, for excellent craftmanship, and financial miracles that will completely pay for this project (we need approximately $1.5 million).
